We have to let the past and future go. Live the present! We learn from our past and apply those lessons learned to our present in order to accomplish our future goals.
Take a mourning day, as Kevin Myers suggests in his book Home Run, to just let go of the things that are holding you back and down. Let go of those grudges and the “only if I had, should’ve, could’ve” thoughts that keep hovering inside your head.
You can’t edit your past so you might as well learn from it and move on. Your attitude should be “now I can, I will, I am” in order to live a life of thinking less about your past and living more your present. Our future life depends on our present results so make them count.
Sometimes we just need to have a funeral and let things go.
